Boston Anonymous Targeted by Cult

Friday, March 28th, 2008

An Anonymous protestor from Boston has been the target of the “cancelled” policy of Fair Game. Via Glosslips:

Today Gregg received a summons for criminal trespass and criminal harassment.

An 8 inch stack of complaints have been filed against him by the cult. But they finally got one to stick.

The Boston anons go out flyering every weekend. On March 9th the anons that Gregg was with decided to hand deliver the flyers to the Church on Beacon Street in Boston .

As the anons walked up the front stairs to the Boston Church, 4 Scientologists came rushing out and Gregg and the anons handed the Scientologists the flyers. The Scientologists asked the anons to leave and so they did leave, immediately. The anons have it all on video.

However the Church as managed to somehow get this one to stick and brought charges against Gregg.

Gregg will be making a scan of the summons for people to see.

For the record, Scientology’s official website claims that Fair Game was cancelled in 1968. The website FairGamed.org lists examples of people affected by Fair Game after it’s cancellation. End The Cult will be cataloguing the continuing implementation of this cancelled policy in its Fair Game section.

Scientology Ads Appearing on Entheta Sites

Friday, March 28th, 2008

Displaying a laughable misunderstanding on how the internet works, Scientology appears to have dropped some coin on Google AdSense, causing their ads to appear on highly-critical sites. Radar Online:

AdSense works like this: Advertisers buy up specific keywords that they think align with the product or service they are selling. Google places ads on sites where those keywords appear most frequently, and receives a payment whenever a browser clicks on the ad. Given the frequency with which words such as “Scientology” and “Anonymous” appear on this site, it’s no wonder that Scientology-purchased spots started cycling in. It just so happens that they’re juxtaposed against overwhelmingly anti-Scientology stories, where they likely have little effect beyond the comedic.

Given that Scientology has paid for these ads, and those who host them (including the huge entheta hub enturbulation.org) share in the revenue, Scientology is effectively paying money to their opposition.

If only all of life’s enemies were as generous as the Church of Scientology.
