Rush & Molloy on Katie Holmes
Though I was first off put by the headline of their article “Chorus of boos awaits Katie Holmes“, Rush & Molloy from the NY Daily News deliver by writing an excellent article on the Anonymous protests outside of the premiere of Katie Holmes’ play. In it, they deliver a smacking of Karin Pouw who keeps on failing to properly apply handling tech.
Church spokeswoman Karin Pouw brands Anonymous as a “terrorist group” that “has fueled religious hatred and intolerance … issued death threats … threatened to destroy Churches of Scientology by detonating bombs … and mailed envelopes containing fake anthrax to 25 churches.”
Anonymous lawyer Graham Berry, however, argues that “to my knowledge, the FBI has found no connection between Anonymous and these so-called threats. Scientology has a history of inventing threats as part of its campaign of intimidation.”
Rush & Molloy take the opportunity the story provides to discuss another high-profile embarassment to the cult.
One Scientology critic who doesn’t feel persecuted is Bill Maher. In his new movie, “Religulous,” the comic dons ragged clothes and stands at Speakers’ Corner in London - blathering about the victims of an evil intergalactic emperor, without mentioning he’s merely regurgitating Scientology’s “secret” teachings.
All around, 2008 continues to be the worst year in the criminal organization’s history. That is until 2009 comes around.
